We normally drive to all of our shoots but for this one, we flew to Phoenix for a quick update shoot of the Drury Inn & Suites Phoenix Happy Valley. The staff at the hotel did a great job getting the rooms ready and their hard work showed. One of the benefits of photographing hotels for Drury is that their rooms are so consistent and their staff has a firm understanding of what is needed to get ready for our arrival.

What Made this Hotel Photo Shoot Unique
The reason that we drive to almost all of our hotel photo shoots is that we like having the flexibility of timing in case something comes up. We have often had to adjust our travel plans in the middle of a trip. When we are driving, that makes it easy to transition. Flying in for a shoot puts extra pressure on us to get it right the first time. That’s where having an experienced hotel photography team is so important.
We flew to Phoenix for a quick shoot and luckily the hotel was ready for our arrival. They had prepared the rooms and the meeting rooms so that we were able to capture the images we needed to showcase the property.
Mixing Business With Pleasure
Even though our trip was a quick one, we were able to take advantage of some of Phoenix’ great southwestern cuisine. We have a good friend in the area who is also a commercial photographer and it was fun to catch up with him over a delicious dinner. We started our businesses about the same time and have enjoyed learning from each other.
