When a hotel is this beautiful, it’s easy to get great photos but when a hotel is this large and diverse, it makes for a challenging hotel photo shoot. We were excited to add the Elyton Hotel to our hotel photography portfolio.
What Made This Hotel Photo Shoot Unique
The hotel was beautiful but they had so many different room types and unique areas. We wanted to make sure that we captured all the unique room types and Marriott requires that each unique room code is represented. The hotel is located in downtown Birmingham, AL and that always adds an additional challenge with traffic.
We got extremely lucky on the evening we did our twilight photos — the city was holding their annual Christmas parade at the exact time we went outside for the exterior shots. As we saw police cars gathering, we were a little concerned but it turned out that the parade route was blocked off at the end of the block so we were able to get unobstructed shots of the hotel for the entire duration of the parade. We wish we could have that luck with all our downtown hotel shoots. It was wonderful to add this beautiful property to our Hotel Photography website!
Mixing Business With Pleasure
Downtown Birmingham is a neat area and we enjoyed the restaurants that were within walking distance. This shoot was an extremely busy one so most of our three day shoot consisted of working our tails off before we crashed.
