Hotel Photography for SpringHill Suites
We have photographed more than 30 different hotel brands. We had never before photographed a Springhill Suites though. Ascent Hospitality got in touch to see if we were up to the task of a new brand. We were excited for the opportunity to get to know a new brand. After reviewing the photography guidelines, we were excited for one more brand to add to our hotel photography portfolio. We established that were up to the challenge. They asked us to provide hotel photography for their other properties as well and we forged a new relationship.
What Made This Hotel Photo Shoot Unique
As with many new hotels, finishing touches were underway when we arrived. It is important to choose a hotel photographer who understands this. A flexible photographer is so crucial because inevitably things WILL happen. In a perfect world, we would show up and everything would be ready. The landscaping and housekeeping would all be pristine. But we don’t live in a perfect world…especially in the hotel business.
We photographed the Springhill Suites – Gulfport I-10 as their landscapers were finishing up so we worked with them to make sure that we could both get our work done efficiently. One of the highlights of the hotel is their outside guest patio with firepit. We wanted to show it off but unfortunately the gas was not working yet. Not to be deterred, we just built a fire in the firepit out of scrap pallets and got our shot. We are there to work together and be part of the team. For most hotels, the team includes more than just the people who are employed by the hotel.
The colors of the hotel and the beautiful simplicity of the room decor made for great photographs. We love the contrast of the blue and white exterior. The welcoming lobby and pool also stood out. Some hotels are easy to capture beautiful shots. This was definitely one of those.
Mixing Business With Pleasure
We left the hotel after our photo shoot to drive to the airport in New Orleans to fly out to our next job. The next job was in California. We live in Illinois! It was a round about way to get to California but the location and the ticket price was best our of New Orleans so it worked well. Special thanks to them for finding my brand new AirPods which I left in the bed and for holding them safely until we could get back through there to pick them up!
