We recently conducted a hotel photo shoot at theHoliday Inn Express Kenner – New Orleans Airport, and were thoroughly impressed with their exceptional preparation. The property was impeccably presented, with every detail carefully attended to. The experienced General Manager played a pivotal role in guiding the process, showcasing their deep understanding of the hospitality industry and ensuring a seamless experience. From the welcoming lobby to the well-appointed guest rooms, the attention to detail was evident, creating a visually appealing backdrop for our images. We highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Kenner as a remarkable location for a photoshoot or a comfortable stay in the vibrant city of Kenner, LA.

What Happens if the weather is bad during our Hotel Photo Shoot?

Did you ever wonder what happens if weather is bad during our hotel photo shoot? This was the sky when we photographed our twilight shots at the Holiday Inn Express – Nashville Whitebridge.

We schedule every hotel photography job with multiple options to get the exterior shots. Our standard package includes us shooting two four hour segments.

We have never run into a situation where we couldn’t get a front shot of the hotel as long as the hotel had the front parking spaces blocked off when we arrived. This hotel in Nashville did an amazing job clearing out their large parking lot! Luckily the hotel is so wide that the shot of the entire front wasn’t the best option.

Even though we actively photograph for those two segments, we schedule ourselves to stay two nights at every hotel we shoot. If we have bad weather the evening we arrive, we can try again –

The next morning before sunrise.
The second night after we completed our shoot.
The following morning before sunset.

Luckily PhotoShop is our friend and sky replacement is an easy fix. As long as we get a clear shot of the front with a dry parking lot, we can find an angle that works.

We are members of a bunch of hotel related Facebook groups where we share our work. We always add a selfie in front of the hotels we photograph and share that on the hotel Facebook groups after each shoot. It helps us to build a relationship with our clients and prospective clients when we put a face with the name.

We get so much business from these silly selfies to include our shoot at the Holiday Inn Mobile Airport. They are in the middle of a major renovation and knew that the cost of updated room photos on their website would be well worth the cost of the photo shoot!

The team at the hotel did an amazing job of getting ready for our arrival. We were able to fit them in on a trip we already had planned but they didn’t let last minute plans interfere with them being ready when we arrived.

Sometimes we photograph a hotel that is named for a destination that is close by. In this case, we were photographing the hotel that is next door to the destination!

Opryland is literally within walking distance of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nashville – Opryland. the location could not be better for a visit to Opryland and all the surrounding attractions.

While that’s a fantastic benefit to the hotel and their guests, busy destination hotels are always more challenging for us to photograph. Luckily the General Manager of this particular property is an experienced veteran who is used to challenges.

It’s always a good sign when we pull up to a hotel and see that they have blocked off the front parking spots. The Holiday Inn Express in Campbellville, KY blocked off the entire front parking lot! Wow what a difference that makes for exterior photos. Let’s be honest – the exterior front picture is the one that people will see first so it makes great sense to get the best possible picture!

Holiday Inn Express Approved Hotel Photography

Working with brand new managers is one of my favorite challenges! The GM at the Holiday Inn Express Bad Axe, MI was in training during our shoot and was nervous the whole time but she used those nerves to make things right for the shoot. We enjoyed our shoot and loved the feedback we got. The GM was on a training call with 30+ other new IHG managers and she made sure to share our information with everyone on the call because she said we were so easy to work with. That’s what we call a success!

It was COLD in Michigan and we did not pack our coats but that was not excuse to miss the beauty of Lake Huron. We drove up to Port Austin and Caseville for a little sightseeing. The visit was short because the wind was whipping but we awed by the beauty of the shoreline. We want to go back when it’s warmer and kayak to Turnip Rock so hopefully we get invited back to the area to photograph more hotels!
